Are you looking for ideas of what to put on your vision board?

You may be wondering what a vision board is?

Essentially, a vision board is a visual representation of your innermost dreams. To put it another way, it is a collage of your hopes, wishes and aims for the future. Typically for the next 12-18 months. Our minds play an important role in realising our dreams for the future, otherwise known as manifestation. You will have often heard the saying ‘if you put your mind to it…’ . A vision board is a way of using your mind to set your intentions for the near future.

Do you feel you need some ideas to put your vision board together? It is often best if you spend some time on this process, be it a few weeks or even months. It is very much a work in progress and don’t expect to come up with a vision board in 2 hours. The idea is that you  progressively add images that resonate with you. Whilst January is a great time to vision board you can literally do it at any time of the year. If you are reading this and it is not January, just go ahead and make a start.

Dr Tara Swart, coined the phrase “action board’ and wrote the book entitled “The Source”. In it she talks about how to prepare for your vision board and also suggests some exercises you may want to practice beforehand to establish your hopes and aims. These include looking at our limiting beliefs, creating a list of achievements and gratitude and journalling.

You could base your vision board around different areas of your life such as social, financial, work, self-care and learning. These are my words and you may have others that resonate with you, what is important to you in your life?

Finally, it is important to bear in mind that what is on your board may not land on your lap. You need to believe it. You need to focus on what you do want rather than what you don’t want. Gabby Bernstein talks here about raising your vibration to the universe by nurturing what it is you want to feel then living as if you have that feeling or experience currently. She likes the use of vision board in conjunction with creating a sense of how you want to feel.

I host vision boarding workshops. If you would like more information on the next one please get in touch. I just hosted a lovely nurturing day on January 4th 2025 with a friend and colleague where we held a circle space and shared what we wanted out of the session. This was followed by a 2 hour session of looking through magazines and postcards to see what we were drawn to. We closed the space with Tracy holding a beautiful visualisation to embed our visions that we created.
